When someone asks: “what the artist wanted to say with this painting (graphic piece, sculpture, etc.)” – it means only one thing: this artwork “does not work”. The image is a visual spiritual message, it must penetrate directly into the heart of the viewer and establish a magical connection between the viewer and the image. And then, indeed, the content of the picture, its hidden meanings, symbols and cultural allusions, and everything that can and should be talked about, will come out of the shadows.
