This compelling linocut print, titled "Event Horizon", is a masterful entry in Oleg Lipchenko’s *Carousel* series. It brilliantly translates his recurring philosophical themes of cyclical motion and systemic inevitability into a stark, high-contrast relief print. The entire composition is dominated by a powerful, swirling centrifugal force. At the exact center lies a solid black, irregular oval—the "event horizon" or central void—toward which all elements of the print are inexorably drawn. Thick, rhythmic black-and-white lines emanate from the central darkness like warping rays of gravity. These lines create a mesmerizing sense of fluid space-time, giving the impression that the entire universe within the frame is being flushed down a cosmic drain. Circling the perimeter of the vortex is a dense, panoramic procession of surreal, biomechanical entities and figures, standard to the *Carousel* mythos: Hybrid Creatures: The outer edge features an imaginative bestiary, including a checkered horse-like figure (bottom left), a segmented caterpillar-like beast carrying an ornate platform (bottom center), armored fish, stylized insects, and horned, reptilian monsters. Scattered precariously among these gargantuan beasts are tiny, naked human figures. They are depicted in various states of motion—leaping, falling, or clinging desperately to the larger mechanical entities as they lose their footing and slide toward the central abyss. The artist utilizes a wide array of classic linocut techniques to give each creature a distinct texture. You can see meticulous patterns of checkerboards, concentric spirals, scales, and parallel hatching that make every segment of the print feel incredibly tactile. While pieces like "Il-Carosello-Divina-w.jpg" focus on the frantic, repetitive struggle to board the grand machine of life, "Event Horizon" represents the ultimate, unavoidable destination. In physics, the event horizon is the threshold of a black hole where the escape velocity exceeds the speed of light. Symbolically linocut depict the moment the carousel breaks down—a cosmic leveling force where human, animal, and machine alike are pulled back into the primordial darkness. Being under psychological pressure of the War, I'm trying to express my feelings in this allegorical engraving "Invasion". I see the occupants of my Motherland as aggressive insects, pests that ruining everything alive.

"Sea Sleipnir" linocut, 6.5" X 8", Limited Edition of 33. The linocut is printed on hand-made paper manufactured in India. "Sea-Sleipnir" is one of the small creatures representing paper-mache horses on my "Carousel". It is referring to legendary Odin's horse Sleipnir, the horse with eight legs. .
