June is a sweltering city, with its man-made tree-like buildings, when the air melts and flows through the windows of the houses, refracting reality, turning it into a haze, a mirage.
Imagine a year as a day, a whole day that begins with waking early in the morning and ends with sinking into a deep sleep. I used to think of a year as a whole lifetime, a long and full life, beginning at birth and ending at death’s door.
